Java Programming Tutorials

In the 1990's, Sun Microsystems (now owned by Oracle) introduced the Java programming language. This was the first language that allowed development across various platforms. Applications written in Java can be run using Linux, UNIX, Macintosh and Windows operating systems. And, the Java language is a free download from the Java website (Where Do I Get Java?). To use our tutorials, you need both Java and some development environment - we use JCreator, another free download.

Our tutorial Java for Kids is aimed at first time, kid programmers (Ages 10 and up).  If you are a beginning high school student or adult student, then Beginning Java is for you.  Neither of these tutorials require any previous programming knowledge. Once you have some Java experience, you can move on to one of our more advanced tutorials. Learn Java GUI Applications teaches students to build Java applications with graphical user interfaces.  KID GAMES WITH JAVA and HOME PROJECTS WITH JAVA  teach more Java GUI skills while building specific projects you can use.   Each of our tutorials can be completely self-study or intructor led.
