Java Programming Tutorials In the 1990's, Sun Microsystems introduced the Java programming language. This was the first language that allowed development across various operating platforms. Applications written in Java can run on UNIX machines, Macintosh and Windows systems. And, the Java language is a free download from the Sun website (Where Do I Get Java?). To use our tutorials, you need both Java and some development environment - we use JCreator, another free download. Our tutorial Java for Kids is aimed at first time, kid programmers (Ages 10 and up). If you are a beginning adult programmer, then Beginning Java is for you. Neither of these tutorials require any previous programming knowledge. Once you have some Java experience, you can move on to one of our more advanced tutorials. Learn Java (GUI Applications) teaches building Java applications with graphical user interfaces. KID GAMES WITH JAVA and HOME PROJECTS WITH JAVA teach more Java GUI skills while building specific projects you can use. Each tutorial includes free, unlimited support. You ask a question - we answer it!
