Java Programming Tutorials
BEGINNING
JAVA FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS BEGINNING JAVA (Table of Contents) is an introduction to computer programming that provides an interactive, self-paced tutorial to the Java programming language. This product is written for the absolute beginner! BEGINNING JAVA is a tutorial consisting of 10 chapters explaining (in simple, easy-to-follow terms) how to build a Java application. You learn about project design, object-oriented programming, console applications, graphics applications and many elements of the Java language. Numerous examples are used to demonstrate every step in the building process. The tutorial also includes several detailed computer projects to illustrate the practicality of Java. These projects include loan calculators, graphics programs, portfolio managers, checkbook balancers, and even a simple video game (Project Screen Shots)! BEGINNING JAVA is presented using a combination of over 400 pages of notes and actual Java examples. No programming experience is necessary, but familiarity with doing common tasks using a computer operating system (simple editing, file maintenance, understanding directory structures, working on the Internet) is expected. BEGINNING JAVA requires a Windows, Linux or Mac OS operating system, ability to view and print documents saved in Microsoft Word format, and the Java Development Kit (a free download from the Java website). We also use the free version of Xinox's JCreator 5.0 as the Integrated Developement Environment (IDE) for this tutorial.
